Meeting at Larnaca airport where we will take our flight to Amman, capital of the Kingdom of Jordan, a megalopolis in the Middle East with many strong signs of its history. Arrival at Amman airport and there we will meet our guide who will be with us throughout the trip. Arrival at the hotel and arrangement of rooms. Dinner and overnight.
Tour Breakfast and departure for a visit to Petra. Travelers describe it "as the most beautiful thing they've seen in their lives." Petra or Rakmou (meaning Rock with Colored Stripes) or "Red Rose City", is one of the modern 7 wonders of the world and has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Our tour starts from the archaeological site of the unique Petra, where the hand of God and the mind of man have joined forces to create something unique. Capital of the Nabataeans, this people coming from Saudi Arabia, a people who became rich from the movement of goods from the East to the ports of the Mediterranean and Egypt, as well as from the supply of water and food to caravans. We will walk through the gorge that passes through high rocks that reach a height of 100 m, to reach an impressive sight, the Treasury (Hazne) carved into the rock, the most famous and much-photographed monument of Petra. We will continue our walk along the road of facades, the theater, the Royal Tombs, the Basilica and the Byzantine cathedral, which was discovered relatively recently. We end with the Roman side of the city, where the street with the colonnade is located, the mosque, the temple of the winged lion, the temple of the pharaoh's daughter. Late afternoon return to the hotel dinner and overnight.
After breakfast follows a full-day excursion. Our first stop will be in Madaba, famous for its craftsmen, who are engaged in the construction of mosaics. In the Greek Orthodox church of St. George, the first map of the Holy Land is preserved, dating back to 560 AD. We continue to Mount Nebo, from where we will have the opportunity to admire the wonderful view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, i.e. the Promised Land of Moses. We will then drive to (Dead Sea). It is a Salt Lake whose shores are more than 400 meters below sea level, the lowest point on land. Its famous hypersaline water makes flotation easy, and its mineral-rich black mud is used for therapeutic and aesthetic treatments. Return to Amman followed by a panoramic tour of the city that includes visits to the city center – Old markets & a view of the Roman Theater. Return to Amman hotel for dinner & overnight.
Breakfast. Free time for lunch and to walk through the historic center and the bazaar of the city. Departure for the airport to take the return flight to Larnaca with the best impressions!
