Meet at Larnaca airport and flight to Athens. Upon arrival, transfer to the Corinth Isthmus, with a coffee stop at Akrata on the national road. Continue towards the Rio-Antirio bridge. Arrive in Preveza and check into the hotel. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Preveza, visiting the house of poet Karyotakis, the Metropolitan Church of Saint Charalampos with its historic Venetian clock tower from 1752, the Saitan Bazaar, the city’s central market, and the seaside promenade. Those who wish may relax at one of the many cafes along the beach or enjoy vegetarian dishes at local taverns. Attend the Crucifixion service at the Church of Saint Charalampos and overnight stay
After breakfast, depart for the mouth of the Acheron River for a boat ride along the mythical river’s waters. Continue to Parga for a tour of the narrow streets, followed by free time for lunch. Return to the hotel in the afternoon. In the evening, watch the procession of the Epitaphs through the central streets of the historic center, culminating in Androutsou Square, with a marching band playing mournful tunes.
After breakfast, gather at the picturesque "Saitan Bazaar" to witness the tradition of the First Resurrection. When the priest of the Metropolitan Church of Saint Charalampos announces the First Resurrection, the city is filled with the sounds of firecrackers, and clay pots are broken on the cobbled streets. This tradition dates back to the Ottoman era, when the people of Preveza made their own firecrackers to ward off the Turks during Easter. After the celebrations, we depart for Lefkada. After passing through the underwater tunnel of Preveza-Aktiou and the floating bridge, we arrive in Lefkada town. We will visit the historic Monastery of Faneromeni, located on a hill above the town. Free time to stroll through the charming streets and squares of Lefkada with its traditional houses and cobbled alleys. Return to the hotel. In the evening, attend the Resurrection service, followed by a dinner with magiritsa (Easter soup) and red eggs at a local restaurant. Overnight stay.
Christ is Risen! After breakfast, depart for Vonitsa, a coastal town located in the Ambracian Gulf, just 30 minutes from the hotel. Free time to explore the traditional streets, visit the Church of Saint Spyridon and Saint Nicholas, and enjoy the marina cafes. Then, proceed to the fairy-tale village of Monastiraki, located at 300 meters above sea level, surrounded by plane trees and running water. Here, enjoy a traditional Easter meal with lamb and music. Free time in the central square, and cross the bridge to see the Kefalovryso River running through the village. Return to the hotel for some free time.
