Gathering at Larnaca Airport and flight to Thessaloniki. Arrival, transfer, and check-in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free. In the evening, we can attend the Resurrection service at a nearby church, followed by a dinner with traditional magiritsa soup. Overnight stay.
Day of Love!!! Christ is Risen!!! After breakfast, we will depart for the beautiful Pozar Hot Springs to relax. Next, enjoy a festive Easter meal with roasted lamb at a traditional tavern. In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Edessa, where you will be amazed by the beauty of the "Karanos" waterfall and the numerous canals with small bridges that cross the city. You will also love the picturesque historic center, known as the Varosi district, with its Macedonian-style architecture. Free time. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will tour the city of Thessaloniki to see its wonderful monuments, such as the Arch of Galerius (Kamara), Byzantine churches, Hagia Sophia, Aristotelous Square, Rotonda, and the White Tower. Next, we will visit the Upper Town (Ano Poli) to see the Byzantine walls and enjoy a panoramic view of the city. As we descend, we will stop to visit the Church of Saint Demetrius. Finally, we will explore the Thessaloniki Metro. The rest of the day is free. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will head to the Monastery of Saint John the Baptist in Serres, one of the most significant and historic monastic centers in Macedonia. Time for pilgrimage. We continue to Lake Kerkini, an artificial lake formed in 1932 with the creation of a dam on the Strymon River. Free time for an optional boat ride to see the buffaloes and wild birds. We then depart for the picturesque village of Ano Poroi, located in a stunning natural area at the foot of Mount Beles. Free time to enjoy lunch and return to the hotel.
After breakfast, the day is free for shopping. In the afternoon, transfer to Thessaloniki Airport for the return flight to Larnaca.
