Panorama of Crete

After breakfast, a walking tour of Heraklion to see, among other things, the famous fountain with the lions, the Cathedral of St. Minas, the Venetian Loggia, the most elegant Venetian monument in Crete, and the Church of St. Titus. We will end at the old harbor before departing for a tour of the archaeological site of Knossos, the largest and most prominent center of the Minoan civilization. We continue to climb Psiloritis, with the first stop at the famous Anogia. Free time, then a visit to the Sfendoni Cave with its countless stalactites and stalagmites, and finally the legendary Zoniana. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

After breakfast, depart for the aquarium, where you will learn about Mediterranean marine life. Continue to Plaka, where a boat will take us to Spinalonga Island, considered one of the most important attractions of Crete. Free time on the island and return to Plaka. After crossing the cosmopolitan Elounda, we arrive at the picturesque Agios Nikolaos with its famous "Lake". A tour to see the harbor, the Voulismeni Lake, the commercial street, the statue of the Abduction of Europe, and the Nearchos Square. Free time for lunch. Return to Heraklion and free time. Overnight stay.

After breakfast, the day is free. We suggest a full-day excursion to southern Crete, where you will have the chance to visit the artificial lake of Zaros, the historic Monastery of Odigitria (known as the "Holy Mount of Crete"), and the famous Matala, where the hippies lived in the 1960s. Free time for lunch at a seaside taverna, visit the caves of the Hippies, or swim. In the afternoon, return to Heraklion.

After breakfast, depart for the historic Arkadi Monastery, a symbol of freedom and the struggle of the Cretan people. Continue to Rethymno. Free time for lunch and a tour of the old town to admire the exceptional buildings, Venetian fortresses, and Turkish minarets. The next stop is at Kourna Lake to enjoy the stunning views. Arrival in Chania and check-in at the hotel. Free time for the rest of the day.

After breakfast, we will explore the city of Chania. We will see evidence of all the cultures that passed through here, such as squares, arches, villas, the famous Loggia, and the iconic lighthouse. We then depart for the village of Vouves, home to the oldest tree in the world, the Monumental Olive Tree, which is still bearing fruit. Free time and then we continue to the Monastery of Gonia in Kolymbari, dedicated to the Virgin Mary Odigitria. Finally, we will reach the beach of Kolymbari, where we will have free time for lunch and swimming. Return to Chania and free time.

After breakfast, the day is free. We suggest an excursion to the picturesque village of Theriso. The rest of the day is free in Chania. Overnight stay.

After breakfast, before saying goodbye to Chania, we will visit the Venizelos Tombs, located in a lush park with panoramic views of the city of Chania. We will continue to the springs of Argyroupoli, with free time to visit the cave church of Agia Dyna and enjoy coffee under the huge plane trees. Arrival at Heraklion airport for the return flight to Larnaca, carrying with us memories of Cretan pride.
