Meeting at Larnaca airport where we will take the flight to Frankfurt. Arrival, pick-up by our leader and immediate departure for the fairytale Heidelberg – the city that seems to have sprung from a Christmas card. You can enjoy the enchanting Winterwäldchen on Kornmarkt Square – the "Christmas Forest" with its brightly lit fir trees – until January 1st, creating an atmosphere full of warmth and magic. Night.
Breakfast and we start our tour in one of the most picturesque and atmospheric cities in Germany – romantic Heidelberg. A city-symbol of German romanticism and the academic cradle of Europe, Heidelberg enchants with its history, architecture and poetic aura. We start our tour with the imposing Palace, perched on the green slopes of Königstuhl Mountain, and continue with a walk along the famous Street of the Philosophers (Philosophenweg), a romantic street that offers the most beautiful panoramic view of the city and the Neckar River. Descending towards the historic center, we walk to the Royal Mile – the main pedestrian street 1.6 km long, full of shops, cafes and festive atmosphere. There is also the historic Zum Ritter Hotel, which has been operating continuously since 1592, becoming a reference point of the city. We will also see the two most important churches – the Church of the Holy Spirit and the University Church, which carry the spiritual and religious heritage of Heidelberg. Our tour concludes with a walk along the famous historic bridge, with its impressive statues – including the statue of Athena, as well as the sculptures honoring the most important rivers in southern Germany. Afterwards, you will have free time to do your shopping, search for special souvenirs or simply lose yourself in the magic of the decorated streets. Return to our hotel. In the evening we recommend tasting authentic German beer in one of the city's traditional beer gardens, experiencing Heidelberg like the locals. Night.
After breakfast, we depart for the enchanting Colmar, the "jewel of Alsace", located on the famous Wine Route. The atmosphere of the city is reminiscent of a setting from a Christmas fairy tale: cobbled streets, traditional colorful houses with wooden frames and the Lauch River, which calmly runs through the historic center. We will see the Cathedral of St. Martin, while we will not forget to walk through Little Venice, the most photogenic corner of Colmar, with its canals, decorated bridges and romantic alleys. There you will have free time for walks, shopping or a hot coffee in this unique atmosphere. We continue to the imposing Strasbourg, the city that unites French finesse with German tradition. Its historic center has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and not without reason. Walking through the old town, we will see the iconic Notre-Dame of Strasbourg, one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in Europe, home to the famous astronomical clock. We will wander in the picturesque district of "Petite France", an old neighborhood of fishermen and tanners, full of wooden houses and canals, taken from a period setting. In Chateau Square we will see the impressive Roan Tower, which today houses the city's most important museums: the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Decorative Arts. You'll have free time to stroll through Strasbourg's pedestrian streets, have a coffee, or sample local delicacies in one of the city's decorated restaurants. Late afternoon return to Heidelberg. Night.
Breakfast and departure for Frankfurt, Germany's financial and commercial center – a city that combines modern dynamism with cultural heritage. Upon arrival, a guided tour of the metropolis of skyscrapers and international organizations follows. This is where the headquarters of the German Stock Exchange, as well as the European Central Bank, are located, making Frankfurt one of Europe's most important financial centers. We will visit the famous skyscraper area, where the Main Tower, one of the most iconic towers in the city, dominates. We will climb to the observatory on the 56th floor, from where we will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view: the Frankfurt skyline, the bridges of the Main River and the surrounding areas. We continue with a beautiful tour of the old town and Römerberg Square, where the impressive Renaissance fountain of Justice, a symbol of equality and justice, is located. We will see the church of St. Nicholas, but also the church of the Apostle Paul, where the first German National Assembly took place. Next, we will admire the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew, one of the most important Gothic churches in Germany, with special historical significance. Our tour concludes with a ride on the famous Eiserner Steg footbridge, which connects the two banks of the River Main. There, among the countless "padlocks of love", we will stand under the imposing inscription with ancient Greek verses of Homer from the Odyssey: "PLEON EPI OINOPA PONTON EPI ALIEN ANTHROPOUS", that is: Sailing on the oinopa pontus towards people of another language – a poetic tribute to travel, adventure and the search for the unknown. Late afternoon return to Heidelberg. Night.
Breakfast box and early morning departure for Frankfurt airport, from where we will board our return flight to Larnaca, filled with unforgettable images, flavors and Christmas memories from a magical journey to the heart of Central Europe.
