Gathering at Larnaca Airport and flight to Athens. Arrival, pick-up, and immediate departure for Kamena Vourla, where we will have free time for lunch. Our next stops will be at the battlefield of Thermopylae, where we will visit the monument of Leonidas, and at the historic Gorgopotamos Bridge. We continue through the mountain villages of Evrytania and arrive in the beautiful town of Karpenisi in the early afternoon. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Free time to explore the picturesque town square and visit the Church of the Holy Trinity with its notable Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons. Overnight stay.
Breakfast and departure to visit the Monastery of the Virgin Mary of Prussiotissa. Our journey will be enchanting through the Krikelion Gorge, where we will stop to worship and visit the museum with the ecclesiastical vestments and the weapons of Karaiskakis. We return to Megalo Village, where we will have time to visit the folklore museum and stay for our lunch. We continue to Koryshades, a traditional village with distinct architecture. We will walk through the large cobbled square with the enormous plane tree, visit the Church of Saint Athanasius built in 1865, and the National Resistance Museum. Our tour of the beautiful fir villages will conclude with a visit to the village of Gorianades before returning to Karpenisi. The rest of the day is free.
Breakfast and departure for Frangista, one of the most beautiful villages in Evrytania, full of fir trees. We will reach the artificial Kremaston Lake, where we will cross the Suspension Bridge over the lake, connecting the Evrytania and Aetolia-Acarnania regions. A stop will be made to enjoy the panoramic view. We continue our beautiful journey to reach the Trichonida Lake area for an optional lunch by the lake. Our scenic trip concludes with a short boat transfer from Antirio to Rio, a 15-minute journey. The view is enchanting as we sail next to the 3-kilometer-long cable-stayed bridge. Arrival in Patras and check-in at the hotel. In the evening, we will take a stroll through the busiest spots of Patras. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, the day will be dedicated to Patras. We will begin with a visit to the impressive Church of St. Andrew, a masterpiece with unique frescoes. We will then continue to the Upper Town, where the Patras Castle is located. There will be time for a stroll and to admire the city from above, before heading down to the center of the new town. Here, we will explore the many squares of Patras, surrounded by significant landmarks, as well as plenty of shops and cafes. Free time to enjoy as you wish. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will depart for Diakopto. We will board the Odontotos train to enjoy a magical journey, approximately one hour long. After crossing the Vouraikos Gorge, we will arrive in Kalavryta. There will be time to visit the Memorial of the Fallen, explore the beauty of the area, shop for local products, and enjoy lunch at one of the taverns. Early in the afternoon, we will board our coach and return to our hotel
After breakfast, we will depart early in the morning for the center of Athens. Arrival and free time for a stroll and shopping. In the early afternoon, we will be transferred to Athens Airport for our flight to Larnaca.
