Meeting at Larnaca Airport to take our flight to Athens. Upon arrival, transfer to Trikala with a stop for lunch along the way. Trikala is a beautiful city, largely pedestrianized, perfect for strolling. We will tour the city, visiting the Central Bridge, the city Fortress, the old town consisting of the Varousi and Manavika neighborhoods, the railway station, the courthouse, and the metal bridge over the Lethaios River. After the city tour, we continue to Kalambaka, check into the hotel, and overnight stay.
After breakfast, we depart to explore some of the most beautiful and well-known villages in Trikala. Our first stop is the village of Pyli, known as the "gateway to Southern Pindus," which is where the town gets its name. The Saint Vissarion Bridge, standing proudly since 1514, was the only passage to and from the Thessalian plain until 1936 and is a place of unique beauty. A few kilometers from Pyli, we will visit the famous artificial waterfalls of Paliokarya. Following this route, we will visit the Kozakas Ski Center and the mountain villages of Elati and Pertouli. In Pertouli, we will take a short break for coffee before returning to Elati. Elati, nestled within dense fir forests, fully justifies its name. The old stone buildings, cobbled streets, and small squares adorned with fountains and flowerbeds give the village an aristocratic and picturesque charm. After a stop for lunch, we return to Kalambaka for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will depart for Meteora, a stunning landscape that enchants with its natural rock formations and the monasteries perched on their edges. We will visit the Monastery of Saint Stefanos, located right above Kalambaka, and the Monastery of Varlaam, both offering breathtaking views and rich history. In the afternoon, we will return to Kalambaka for lunch. The rest of the day will be free for leisure. Overnight stay.
Ater breakfast, we will bid farewell to Kalambaka and head towards Lake Plastira, a year-round destination known for its natural beauty. The locals often call it "the lake of four seasons." The lake is surrounded by 18 picturesque villages, and its area spans almost 55 kilometers. We will visit the lakeside village of Lampero and the beautiful Neochori, where you will have free time for lunch. In the late afternoon, we will reach Athens, check into the hotel, and enjoy an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will depart for a tour of the Athenian Riviera, a beautiful coastal area with stunning views of the sea. Our first stop will be the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, a remarkable space for arts and culture, offering panoramic views of the city and the sea. We will continue our journey to Cape Sounion, where we will visit the ancient Temple of Poseidon, perched on the edge of a cliff with breathtaking views over the Aegean Sea. After exploring this iconic landmark, you will have free time to enjoy the scenic surroundings. Return to Athens in the late afternoon.
After breakfast, enjoy some free time to do your last-minute shopping in the Greek capital or wander through the picturesque streets of Plaka or Thiseio, where you can relax with a coffee. In the early afternoon, transfer to Eleftherios Venizelos Airport for your return flight to Larnaca, filled with beautiful memories and images of your trip.
