Gathering of participants at Larnaca airport and departure for Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. Arrival, transfer, and departure for Chalkida. Free time along the waterfront to enjoy lunch at ouzeris and fish taverns. Next, we head to the picturesque Arachova. Check-in at the hotel. Free time for rest and strolling through the town. In the evening, we will attend the Holy Saturday service at one of the historic churches. Return to the hotel for the Easter dinner, including the traditional magiritsa soup. Overnight.
(Easter Sunday): ARAKHOVA
Christ is Risen!!! This morning, we will explore Arachova, experiencing Easter traditions. Each neighborhood prepares a barbecue from vine branches, and local grills will begin the ritual of roasting the Easter lamb. Visitors actively participate in this festive atmosphere. Locals offer snacks, wine, and tsipouro. A similar celebration takes place at our hotel. At noon, we will enjoy the Easter meal (buffet) accompanied by music and dance. In the afternoon, we visit the Byzantine Monastery of Hosios Loukas with its rich historical significance and impressive mosaic decorations. Return to the hotel. Overnight.
Breakfast and departure for Delphi. Continue to Itea. After enjoying coffee at a seaside café, we will visit the historic Galaxidi, a preserved settlement with a picturesque harbor and a rich history. We will stroll through cobbled streets, see the mansions, and enjoy lunch at ouzeris and fish taverns. Return to Arachova for rest. Free time to explore the town. Dinner. Overnight.
Tuesday of Easter): AGORIANI - GRAVIA - ARAKHOVA
Breakfast and departure to enjoy the natural beauty of Mount Parnassus with its ski center, chalets, dense vegetation, and many fir trees. We will visit Agoriani with its square, large plane trees, and flowing waters. Next, we head to Gravia with its historical inn and connection to Odysseas Androutsos. Return to Arachova, free time. In the afternoon, we participate in various events and the evening Vespers service at the historic Church of Saint George, followed by a procession with the icon of Saint George around Arachova, accompanied by the local brass band, choir, and residents dressed in traditional costumes. Overnight.
Breakfast and visit to Livadia, another historic town in central Greece known for its picturesque beauty. We will visit the beautiful area of Krya with its flowing waters and huge plane trees. Free time for shopping in the town's affordable market. Later, we say goodbye to Central Greece and head for Athens. Free time to explore and visit the sights of central Athens. Late afternoon departure for Eleftherios Venizelos Airport for the return journey. A trip full of experiences from what we saw and lived in Central Greece.
