Meeting at Larnaca airport where we will take the flight to Frankfurt. Arrival pick-up by our leader followed by a short panoramic tour to see Frankfurt in the evening. Afterwards transfer to the hotel. A powerful economic center not only of Germany but also of the whole of Europe with its trademark high-tech skyscrapers, which are reflected in the calm waters of the River Main. Night..
Breakfast. The economic and commercial center of Germany – a city that combines modern dynamism with cultural heritage. This is followed by a guided tour of the metropolis of skyscrapers and international organizations. This is where the headquarters of the German Stock Exchange, as well as the European Central Bank, are located, making Frankfurt one of Europe's most important financial centers. We will visit the famous skyscraper area where our hotel is located and dominates the Main Tower, one of the most emblematic skyscrapers of the city in which we will climb. We continue with a beautiful tour of the old town and Römerberg Square, where the impressive Renaissance fountain of Justice, a symbol of equality and justice, is located. We will see the church of St. Nicholas, but also the church of the Apostle Paul, where the first German National Assembly took place. Next, we will admire the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew, one of the most important Gothic churches in Germany, with special historical significance where the coronation of the emperor took place. Our tour concludes with a ride on the famous Eiserner Steg footbridge, which connects the two banks of the River Main. There, among the countless "padlocks of love", we will stand under the imposing inscription with ancient Greek verses of Homer from the Odyssey: "PLEON EPI OINOPA PONTON EPI ALIEN ANTHROPOUS", that is: Sailing on the oinopa pontus towards people of another language – a poetic tribute to travel, adventure and the search for the unknown. We continue to the fairytale Heidelberg. A city-symbol of German romanticism and the academic cradle of Europe, Heidelberg enchants with its history, architecture and poetic aura. During our tour of the Baroque architectural historic center of São Paulo we will see the market square dominated by the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, the buildings of the University (the oldest in Germany and the third oldest in the German-speaking world), the ornate Jesuit church, the elegant Town Hall. Of course, we will not forget to stop for photos in front of the characteristic towers of the Prince - Elector Charles-Theodore Bridge with the beautiful Renaissance castle of the city in the background, which stands proudly 80 meters above it! Then we will visit the castle by train to see the largest barrel in the world, the panoramic view of the city and the Neckar River that crosses it. We continue to the imposing Strasbourg where we will spend the night.
Strasbourg is the city that unites French finesse with German tradition. Its historic center has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and not without reason. Walking through the old town, we will see the iconic Notre-Dame of Strasbourg, one of the most beautiful Gothic cathedrals in Europe, home to the famous astronomical clock. We will wander in the picturesque district of "Petite France", an old neighborhood of fishermen and tanners, full of wooden houses and canals, taken from a period setting. In Chateau Square we will see the impressive Roan Tower, which today houses the city's most important museums: the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Decorative Arts. You will have free time to stroll along Strasbourg's pedestrian streets, for coffee or to visit the museums. Night.
After breakfast we depart for Rikvir also known as "the village of winegrowers", nestled behind its medieval walls. Situated in the heart of vineyards, Rikvir is rightly described as "the pearl of the wine road". We continue to Colmar, the jewel of Alsace. It is located on the wine route and is famous for them. We will tour its historic center characterized by traditional houses built on the banks of the Lauch River. We will see the Town Hall, the Cathedral dedicated to Saint Martin as well as small beautiful squares. Free time we will have in the most beautiful part of the old town, Little Venice which is characterized by canals, ornate bridges, aristocratic cafes and gourmet restaurants. Don't forget to take a photo with the Pfister House in the background, which is an example of German Renaissance architecture. Arrival in Freiburg from the most famous campuses in Germany, which - not unjustly - is characterized as the "environmental capital of Europe", due to the smart use of energy from the sun, which it enjoys much of the year. We will tour the historic center to admire the Cathedral, the crimson Koifhus, the first department store in the world, the beautiful fountains of the square, not one, but two Town Halls, but also the Art Nouveau main building of one of the oldest universities in Europe. . We continue to the heart of the enchanting Mavrou Forest following the German "Clockwork Road" (with its countless clock-cuckoo workshops) and reach the "drowned" in green Lake Titize. Late afternoon return to Strasbourg.
Breakfast and departure for Wiesbaden, the capital of the state of Hesse, known for its thermal baths, which is located in the center of a beautiful valley between the Rhine and the Taunus Mountains. On our tour we will admire the Schlossplatz, the winter palace of the rulers of the House of Nassau where today it houses the parliament of the state of Hesse, the neo-Gothic market church, the town hall, the imposing state theater, the Kurhaus (Baths) which houses the city's casino, the attractive colonnade of the Baths which is the longest colonnade in Europe at 197 meters. We continue to Røndesheim with the famous wine, the Eiswein and the iced sweet wine produced in the Rhine Valley from overripe grapes. We will enjoy the view of the Rhine and the green vineyards. We will walk along the pedestrian Oberstrasse and see some of the impressive residences of the nobles of the time, while in the narrow cobbled streets we will see the beautiful houses with wood and the buildings decorated with stucco. Be sure to order a Rüdesheimer coffee made with Asbach Uralt, among other things. Late afternoon arrival in Frankfurt and overnight.
Breakfast and departure for Frankfurt Airport, from where we will board our return flight to Larnaca, filled with unforgettable images from a magical journey to the heart of Central Europe.
