Gathering at Larnaca airport to take our flight to Athens. Arrival, pickup, and departure heading towards the city of Jason and the Argonauts, Volos. Visit to the Athanasakeion Archaeological Museum, one of the oldest in the country and a central museum of Thessaly, housed in a beautiful neoclassical building from 1909. Free time for a stroll in the city. Overnight stay.
Breakfast and departure for the “Balcony of Pelion,” the famous Makrinitsa. We will walk to the central square with its ancient plane trees, visit the Church of St. John the Baptist, and drink from the marble fountain “Immortal Water” with its lion-shaped spouts. After enjoying our coffee and the stunning view, we will head to the traditional village of Portaria. Free time for a walk on the Centaurs’ path. We continue, passing by the Hania area, and reach Kisso with its impressive Church of Saint Marina, which features exceptional frescoes, as well as the school where Rigas Ferreos taught. Return to Volos, and the rest of the day is free. Overnight stay.
Breakfast and departure to visit the eastern side of Pelion, the villages of Milies and Tsagarada. In Milies, the birthplace of Anthimos Gazis, we will visit the historic Church of the Archangels, built in 1741, and the public library, which houses rare manuscripts. We continue to Tsagarada, one of the most beautiful villages in Pelion, where we will have time for lunch before returning to our hotel in Volos. The rest of the day is free. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, departure for a visit to the unique monasteries of Meteora, above Kalambaka. We will visit the Monastery of Saint Stephen (a female monastery) and take a look at the Great Meteoron, also known as the Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior – a male monastery, the oldest and largest of all the Meteora monasteries. We will also visit the Natural History and Mushroom Museum. We will stay in the town of Kalambaka for lunch, and then continue on to Athens. Arrival at our hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will depart for the Athenian Riviera, reaching the Cape of Sounion. Our excursion begins with a visit to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, where we will enjoy our morning coffee. We will continue our coastal route to discover the Temple of Poseidon in Sounion, where we can admire the stunning view of the Aegean Sea. We will then return to the beach of Fokias for our lunch. In the afternoon, we will return to Athens for some free time. Overnight stay
Breakfast and free time to do your last shopping in the Greek capital or wander through the picturesque alleys of Plaka or Thiseio to enjoy your coffee. In the early afternoon, transfer to Eleftherios Venizelos Airport to take our return flight to Larnaca, carrying beautiful images and memories
